***This one is going on my list of things to never tell my mom about. Or maybe the "things-I'm-not-telling-mom-about-until-I'm-30" list. I haven't decided yet...
This weekend Kay's boyfriend, CS, came to our school with some of his buddies from his school b/c they were playing in a flag football tourney. Saturday morning CS called Kay at like 8:00 to let us know that they were in town and getting ready to start the first game, so Kay and I, being the good friends and fans we are, dragged our butts out of bed and went to watch them play. We missed their first game but made it for their second one at 11:00. We were like the only 2 fans there... what fun!
Anyway, to the point... Saturday night we went out to eat with CS and a few of his friends. After dinner me, Kay, CS, and his friend DB decided we wanted to go out and do something while the rest of the guys went back to the hotel. Me and Kay were all for going to a local dance club, but the boys didn't like that idea to well. So we headed in the city to find something to do.
And when I say city I mean St. Louis. And when I say to "find" something to do I mean find, look, seek out, search. We had no idea of what to do, no idea of where to go, and no map.
We finally decided to go check out the City Museum (from now on refered to as TCM), which is like a giant play-ground. It has all the climbing things like Jungle of Fun does, only it's big enough for adults to do too. Fortunately, I had just looked it up on the internet on Thursday so I slightly remembered what street it was on.
****IMPORTANT NOTE: 1) I've never driven in big city traffic. I'm from a small country town. 2)I've only been in downtown St. Louis like, a few times, and most of them were when I was young. I did go to a concert there a few months ago so I had a vague- no very vague, idea of where about 3 streets were.****
So, here I am, driving us into downtown St. Louis at 9:45 PM, with no idea where to go. All I know to do was look for the street that TCM was on. We drove around for about 20 minutes before I called a friend who knew where TCM was for directions. But after I got off the phone with her, we got even more lost and had to call her back 30 minutes later. After that it took us another 25 minutes after that to find the freakin' place.
Once we found the place we decided not to go in b/c it wasn't worth the 8 bucks to get in plus the $5 parking fee for 2 hours and the boys were kind of tired from playing football all day and they still had games Sunday morning. That made me a little bit mad b/c I wasted all that gas to drive around for like 1 1/2 hours and do nothing. But we stil had fun.
The whole time we were driving DB was talking to people out the window. Not like yelling or being mean, b/c I would have killed him, but just saying random things to people. He told some couple walking their dogs that their dogs were beautiful. He was pretty funny and made being lost not as bad as it could have been. He had never been to STL before so he was amazed at the Arch and kept telling me to drive back by it... which I did about 6 times, but not on purpose. We saw just about every landmark/big important building/stadium/park in downtown STL at least 4 times.
Once we left STL we took the boys back the their hotel and came back to campus and went to bed. Yup. Another exciting night in life of a college student.
In other news:
I went to court today to get my court supervision. I'm not sure how long I have it for or when it starts or anything. But I have 4 motnth to pay $160, so hopefully I can get a job by then! Or make money some how! Christmas falls in that time frame so maybe I'll just ask for money this year... hmm...
Oh yeah, I did end up tell my mom about being lost in STL. She just shook her head and said she wasn't sure if she wanted to know that kind of stuff. Haha. I love her... :)
Well I'm off to study and go to bed! Have a good week everyone! :)

I've been trying to get your mom to go to TCM with you and Jay and the kids and us forever! I love that place, though I imagine it would be more fun with kids. And it is very difficult to find. BTW, I was just talking to your mom about your blogsite tonight. I wouldn't post too many secrets here for a while.
Thanks for stopping by my bloggy!
Being lost isn't anything NOT to tell your Mom about!
I've spent a great deal of my life circling around trying to find out where I am and how to get back where I was trying to go when I got lost...
Nothing wrong with that! The Learning Curve of navigation!
The St. Louis Arch is great, eh? You should go up in it sometime, that's fun!
